Nigeria: Smile upgrades core network in Nigeria
Smile Communications has completed an upgrade of its core network in Nigeria to increase capacity and improve customer experience. Local newspaper Vanguard quotes Smile’s Chief Marketing Officer Abdul Hafeez as saying that the network upgrade ‘reaffirms Smile’s commitment to creating opportunities that will enable our customers to enjoy the best broadband internet experience by providing differentiating solutions that will enrich their lives’. He added that the aim of the upgrade was to enhance overall quality of service on the Smile network, extend connectivity and access to the internet to more Nigerians, and to make quality internet access more affordable.
Smile’s 4G LTE network has coverage of Ibadan, Lagos, Abuja, Port Harcourt, Benin City, Kaduna, Onitsha and Asaba.
