Through collaboration and strategic engagement, the forum works to strengthen trusted critical infrastructure, improve interoperability, and enable digital transformation worldwide.
MTN Digital Infrastructure, the parent company of Bayobab, announced that its Chief Executive Officer, Mazen Mroué, has been appointed to the Board of the Global Leaders’ Forum (GLF), a global network of senior connectivity leaders working to shape the future of the digital infrastructure and telecommunications ecosystem.
The appointment reflects the growing role of African-led infrastructure players in global industry dialogue and reinforces Bayobab’s commitment to advancing inclusive, innovative, and responsible connectivity across the regions it serves and beyond.
The GLF brings together senior executives from across the telecommunications and digital infrastructure landscape to address industry priorities centred on inclusivity, innovation, and responsibility. Through collaboration and strategic engagement, the forum works to strengthen trusted critical infrastructure, improve interoperability, and enable digital transformation worldwide.
“I am honoured to join the Board of the Global Leaders’ Forum at a time when digital infrastructure is playing an increasingly central role in economic development, innovation and inclusion. As Bayobab expands critical infrastructure across Africa, we see every day how resilient, open and future-fit networks can enable progress for businesses, communities and economies. I look forward to contributing a perspective grounded in Africa’s growth ambitions, while working with industry peers to strengthen cooperation, advance sustainable investment, and help shape a more inclusive and resilient digital ecosystem.”
– Mazen Mroué, Chief Executive Officer, MTN Digital Infrastructure
He will attend his first GLF Board meeting during ITW 2026, taking place in Washington, D.C., from 19–21 May 2026.
“It is a great pleasure for me, also on behalf of the GLF, to welcome Mazen as Member of the Board. I’m sure that his distinctive perspective, strategic contribution and expertise will be of great stimulus, and I’m looking forward to collaborating with him to further develop and strengthen the GLF’s role in the ICT ecosystem.”
– Enrico Bagnasco, Chair, Board of the GLF
This milestone underscores Bayobab’s growing leadership role in shaping the future of digital ecosystems and reinforces its commitment to collaboration as a catalyst for sustainable industry progress.
