A major disruption hit global internet traffic following a cut in the PEACE submarine cable system in the Red Sea, Submarine Networks has reported.

According to the report, The incident occurred on March 4, 2025, at 17:46 GMT, approximately 1,450 kilometers from Zafarana, Egypt.

The reports further state that the cause of the damage remains unknown, but the outage has significantly affected connectivity between Asia, East Africa, and Europe. The repairs could take several months, potentially impacting businesses and communications across multiple regions.
