Mozambique: Huawei will help government develop national ICT industry

Mozambique will develop its ICT industry thanks to Huawei Technologies. The Chinese company and the Minister of Transport and Communications signed an agreement to this effect. Note that Huawei has just trained 50 Mozambican trainees in ICT with its Seeds for the Future initiative.

The Chinese company Huawei Technologies Co. Ltd. signed a partnership agreement with the Mozambican Minister of Transport and Communications Janfar Abdulai on November 9, 2020. It focuses on the development of the national information and communication technology (ICT) industry.

The partnership was signed in Maputo, after the publication of the results of Huawei’s training program “Seeds for the Future” which saw the success of 50 Mozambican trainees. During their training, they acquired knowledge in various fields including fifth generation wireless telecommunications technology, LTE wireless broadband communication standard, cloud computing, artificial intelligence, Internet of things.

The signing of a partnership between Huawei and Mozambique comes in a context marked by the acceleration, by several African countries, of their digital transformation. For this country, Huawei’s expertise would benefit it in various strategic areas such as infrastructure, training, technology, etc.
