Liquid Telecom takes control of Botswana subsidiary
Liquid Telecom is to acquire full control of its unit in Botswana, buying the 42.5% of shares currently held by the Botswana Power Corporation (BPC). The two firms created Liquid Telecom Botswana as a joint venture in 2016, with the unit providing wholesale international bandwidth to incumbent fixed-line operator Botswana Telecommunications Corporation (BTC), local mobile network operators and ISPs. According to a report from The Voice, the share purchase has been approved by Botswana’s Competition and Consumer Authority.
