ECA extends deadline for second national telecoms licence submissions
Having previously set a deadline of 15 September 2023 for parties interested in qualifying to take part in the sale process for the nation’s second new national telecoms licence (‘Licence B’), the Ethiopian Communications Authority (ECA) has announced it is pushing back the deadline for submissions.
In a press release regarding the matter, the regulator said that it had received ‘concerns and requests from several prospective investors’ which had called for it to extend the deadline for submission of the Request for Qualifications (RFQ). The ECA said it ‘fully concurred’ with the feedback and as such is pushing back the submission deadline to 6 October 2023.
