Uganda: Airtel Uganda expands network
Airtel Uganda launched a new network site in Rwemikoma, Kazo District, as part of its continued efforts to close the digital inclusion and connectivity gap across the country.
The plan is part of the company’s effort to boost 4G coverage across the country, increasing access to fast internet, clear phone conversations, and digital services such as mobile money.
According to the telecom, the new infrastructure not only enhances communication but also creates financial and employment prospects for the local populace.
Additionally, the introduction of the 4G site in Kazo is projected to have a substantial impact on regional security. Residents will be able to install security cameras in their homes and farms because to faster network connections.
Furthermore, the launch acted as a reminder about internet safety. Customers were warned to be alert and secure their personal information, particularly mobile money PINs.
“We are now offering improved network speeds and reliability, making sure that the people of Kazo District can enjoy seamless connectivity in every corner of their community,” said Airtel in a statement.
Maiso Andrew, Airtel territory business manager said that the mission is to connect Kazo’s population to the world, facilitating digital inclusion for everyone and allowing people to connect to every part of the world through their phone.
For Samuel Rumaari, chairperson LC3, the enhanced network provides safety, enabling property surveillance.
“With this 4G mast, you can install cameras to monitor your property, allowing you to identify those who steal from you or loiter around your home and farms,” he said.
